Research Services

We offer very flexible research services - from a lookup of a single record to a full family history report.

Unlike other ancestry research services, we require no payment until the research is complete and you are satisfied with the outcome.

Prices

Our service is based on an hourly rate of £20 UK (plus VAT where appropriate), charged in 30 minute segments. All records will be fully transcribed. If you also require a certified extract or an uncertified copy of a certificate, register entry or census, or copies of any other documents, then we can also get these for you and we can provide a quote for this where required..

Payment is accepted by the following means:-

• Cheques - we accept cheques in Sterling drawn on a UK bank.
• Credit/Debit cards - we accept Visa, Mastercard, Delta, JCB or Switch

Services

Since our services are based on an hourly rate we will give you a free estimate of the cost before we proceed with any work. To get the best estimate, what we need you to tell us is:-

• What you know and how you know it - This could be just a name and date of birth, marriage or death. Or it could include additional information that you have already found in your own research. We would also like to know where you got your information from. This will help to make sure we don't repeat work you have already done yourself. Even if you don't know for sure about a name or date or event, then please provide that information, indicating that it is not certain.
• What you don't know - This also helps us to understand your request
• What you want to know - This is the real question! Exactly what are you looking for? You could just be looking for a single certificate, or you could be looking for a full report on your family as far back as we can go. The more specific you can be the better. For example, is it just a single line you would like traced, or all branches . Do you want information on siblings?

Once you have all your information together, send it to us by email and we will get back to you with an estimate. If you are happy with the estimate, we will need your full contact details and will then proceed with the work.

Remember - there is nothing to pay until the research is complete and you are happy with the results, at which point we will send you an invoice.
